Is there nothing better than French toast for Sunday breakfast? Thick slices of bread, soaked in a mixture of beaten eggs with milk and cinnamon, toasted in a frying pan, and served with butter and maple syrup.
Ingredients:
- 3 medium or large eggs
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 5 – 6 slices of bread (6 if the eggs are large)
- 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of garlic
- salt and pepper ketchup or maple syrup
- cooking oil
Method:
- Place the eggs in a mixing bowl. Whisk them until they are well beaten.
- Add in the cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Whisk again until everything is well combined.
- Place the bread in the mixture one slice at a time. Allow it to soak for about a minute. Flip it to the other side and allow it to soak for an additional minute.
- Preheat a pan over medium heat. Add in the cooking oil and the French toast. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until the bread becomes a nice golden brown and there is no raw egg mixture.
- Serve the french toast up with ketchup, maple syrup, corn syrup, or jam.
